Find broken links and images
A broken link can prevent a visitor finding a product, contact detail or guide. Reports identify the target and the page that links to it.
Start with the source page
Open the reported source page and try the link. A 404 means the requested page was not found. Server failures may be temporary. Update the link or remove it when the destination no longer exists.
Not every failed request is a broken link
Some sites block automated requests or limit their rate. A timeout or bot challenge alone is not reliable evidence of a broken link. Check uncertain results manually.
Coverage limits
The free check samples up to 30 pages within an approximately 25-second crawl budget. Weekly checks allow up to 500 pages within five minutes. Robots.txt, access rules and link structure affect coverage. JavaScript-rendered content may be absent.
Follow up
Fix important internal links first. Known external findings can be ignored in the report and restored later. A clean sample is not proof that the entire website is error-free.
